AdventHealth Kansas City: A Guide for International Nurses
Explore AdventHealth’s four Kansas campuses, the nursing roles listed on DaRi, and how the application process works.
If you are considering AdventHealth Kansas City, start with the campuses. The DaRi listing covers four hospitals in Kansas, each with a different location and care setting.
You apply to AdventHealth Kansas City as a whole through DaRi, rather than submitting a separate application to each campus.
Where are the hospitals?
The Kansas City metropolitan area extends across Kansas and Missouri. All four hospitals listed here are in Kansas, but they are not all in the city of Kansas City.
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission — Merriam
The largest of the four campuses, Shawnee Mission provides a broad range of hospital services. Its campus includes the main hospital, outpatient surgery facilities, and a cancer center.
AdventHealth South Overland Park — Overland Park
This hospital provides emergency care, surgery, intensive care, and maternity services. It is a separate campus from Shawnee Mission, so check the location carefully when discussing a role.
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — Lenexa
Opened in July 2025, this campus provides inpatient care alongside emergency, surgical, cardiac, and orthopedic services. When researching it, use the full name “Lenexa City Center” to avoid confusing it with AdventHealth Prairie Star, another facility in Lenexa.
AdventHealth Ottawa — Ottawa
Ottawa serves Franklin County and surrounding communities. It offers a smaller community setting outside the main Kansas City urban area, with services including emergency care, surgery, and intensive care.
Your campus matters when planning housing and your commute. Wait until the work location is confirmed before choosing where to live.
Which nursing roles are listed?
At the time of writing, DaRi lists opportunities in:
- Medical and surgical nursing
- Intensive care
- Emergency nursing
- Labor and delivery
- Operating room nursing
The listed requirements include at least two years of experience, an NCLEX pass, and good English communication skills.
These are recruitment listings for AdventHealth Kansas City overall. They do not mean every specialty is available at every campus. Check the hospital profile for updates and ask which roles fit your background.
How does the application work?
Select AdventHealth Kansas City when submitting your nursing resume on DaRi. DaRi reviews the resume before forwarding it to the hospital.
If you proceed to an interview, you meet the hospital online. Any job offer comes directly from the hospital.
Make your current specialty and clinical responsibilities clear in your resume. If you have a preferred unit or location, explain that during the process and ask what is available.
What should you ask at the interview?
Alongside questions about the clinical role, confirm:
- Which campus and unit is the position for?
- What shift will you work?
- How long is orientation, and how is progress assessed?
- What support is available for nurses entering U.S. practice?
- Which benefits and relocation arrangements apply to your offer?
The hospital profile is a useful starting point. Your interview and written offer should provide the details for your particular position.
